Leagtar amach in alt 7 den Acht sainmhíniú ar "comhlacht seirbhíse poiblí" chun críche an Achta.

Foráiltear leis an díolúine in alt 5(5)(k) den Acht gur cumarsáidí díolmhaithe iad cumarsáidí a dhéanann duine atá fostaithe ag comhlacht seirbhíse poiblí nó a shealbhaíonn aon oifig nó aon phost eile i gcomhlacht seirbhíse poiblí ar choinníoll gur sa cháil sin a dhéantar na cumarsáidí agus go mbaineann na cumarsáidí le feidhmeanna an chomhlachta seirbhíse poiblí.

Is é atá thíos ná liosta de chomhlachtaí ar deimhníodh gur comhlachtaí seirbhíse poiblí iad chun críche an Achta.  Ní liosta uileghabhálach é agus d'fhéadfadh go n-athrófaí é. I gcás ina bhfuil duine éiginnte faoi cé acu a mheastar nó nach meastar eagraíocht a bheith ina comhlacht seirbhíse poiblí chun críche an Achta, ba cheart don duine sin teagmháil a dhéanamh leis an gCoimisiún um Chaighdeáin chun tuilleadh faisnéise a fháil.
