What is the directive you gave to the grassroots campaigners? Results: to push for change in legislation in the upcoming referendum to amend the Irish constitution to add the “Right To Housing”. _GTM were also lobbying to advocate for improved living standards and equitable treatment for the Traveller community, with efforts made in generating increased awareness and promoting positive change. Event in Leinster House on the invitation of Senator Victor Boyhan who was hosting the Performance “ Ireland Shed a Tear” by The Traveller Wagonwheel Theatre company, in collaboration with the_#Travellerhomesnow Campaign by the Galway Traveller Movement. The results of this were that GTM were highlighting the substandard conditions that many Travellers have to live in, and by having Government officials at the event, to get them to see firsthand the dangers of precarious living circumstances, such as the Carrickmines Tragedy in 2015, where 10 Traveller men, women, children, and an unborn child lost their lives to a fire in a substandard halting site. suitable Traveller culturally appropriate accommodation . Additionally, attendance was taken at an event hosted by Senator Victor Bohan in Leinster house AV room, with the purpose of highlighting the substandard living conditions experienced by members of the Traveller community
