A new road into Cobh as the R624 road is only one way into & out of Great Island (Cobh) and is not capable of taking industrial, residential and the volume of Tourist Traffic. (Trucks, Tour buses, Public Transport Buses etc.)

Cobh & Harbour Chamber organized it's Annual dinner at which The Taoiseach Loe Varadkar and Michael McGrath the minister for finance attended at Fota Island Hotel on the 7th September 2023 Green Wind Energy in the Cork Harbour. The Cobh R624 Road and Public Transport were discussed.

The Taoiseach, David Stanton, TD and Deirdre Clune, MEP attended a community information meeting in the Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh on the 8th September 2023 at which Funding for Cobh Community Hospital, Public Water Access in Cobh and The Public Realm Project was discussed.
