Budget 2025, seeking budgetary provision be made for a range of measures including additional social housing and housing options for older people, homeless families and youth homelessness. Measures to address domestic abuse. The introduction of a statutory Homecare scheme and increased homecare hours for older people. Measures to address and alleviate poverty. Supports for the Community and Voluntary sector including full cost recovery for delivery of essential services.
Intended results
An additional €1.4 billion investment in social housing, capacity to deliver social housing, housing options for older people, increase in HAP limits by 15%, resourcing of exit routes from homelessness, resourcing the delivery of the DSGBV strategy, introduction of a statutory homecare scheme and increase homecare hours, benchmark and index state pensions to at lease 34% of average earnings, increase basic social welfare rates €25 per week, ensure full cost recovery for the C&V sector.
