Meeting (1)

ED and Policy and Research Coordinator met Deputy Costello at Leinster House on 31 July to discuss penal reform priorities including review of the Criminal Justice (Community Service)(Amendment) Act 2011 to ensure great use of Community Service Orders. IPRT also raised the potential of the Justice Committee examining the impact of IPS staffing on access to education and training. Also discussed the publication of reports by the Office of the Inspector of Prisons and OPCAT ratification.
