Specific Details The INOU was part of a delegation from the Community and Voluntary Pillar that met with Minister for Finance, Jack Chambers T.D. and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe T.D. to discuss Budget 2025 under three themes: revenue raising & taxation; benchmarking, income adequacy, social protection & the cost of living; investment in services & infrastructure.

Intended results To secure a more equitable and inclusive Budgetary process and address the social and economic exclusion facing so many unemployed people, other people reliant on social protection supports, and furthest from the labour market.

Meeting (1)

The INOU's Pre-Budget submission was sent to the Ministers for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform in advance of the meeting and the organisation used the opportunity to urge the Ministers to properly address the issue of income inadequacy, exacerbated by the cost of living crisis, facing so many unemployed people and others of working age trying to manage on a social welfare payment.
