Specific Details The outcome of the UN COP29 climate negotiations in Baku in November

Intended results We wanted the Irish Government to push for an outcome that established an adequate goal for international climate finance to be provided by rich countries and protected, or strengthened, the language about phasing out fossil fuels agreed at COP28. On climate finance we also wanted the Irish government to increase its own pledges in line with calculations of Ireland's fair share.

Representatives of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition met with Minister Eamon Ryan TD and officials in Tom Johnson House, DECC HQ at 2pm on 7 November 2024, before he left to represent the Government at COP29 in Baku.

Members of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition met with Minister Eamon Ryan TD in Baku at COP29 as part of his wider meeting on Saturday 17th November with a variety of stakeholders who were at COP29 on "party overflow" badges as part of the Irish delegation.
