Specific Details Congratulating Minister Helen McEntee on her appointment as Minister for Education. INTO look forward to collaborating with Minister McEntee and her team to build on the strengths of our education system.

Intended results To continue working constructively with the Department of Education o ensure the development of a world-class primary and special education system for all children. To encourage sustained investment in schools, teachers, and educational infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of our society. To ensure that our education system reflects the high calibre of teaching and learning that Irish citizens expect and deserve. A briefing document outlining the key issues facing primary and special education was included with our correspondence, which highlights urgent priorities such as class size reductions, additional supports for children with special educational needs, teacher recruitment and retention challenges, the necessity to augment school leadership, higher direct funding for schools and the need for enhanced resources in schools serving disadvantaged communities. INTO welcomes a meeting with Minister McEntee to discuss these critical matters and explore ways in which we can work together to achieve our shared objectives.
