Intended results Alcohol Forum Ireland led the development of a coalition of over 70 organisations and individuals to advocate for meaningful inclusion of alcohol in the new national Drug Strategy which is due for publication in 2025. The intended result is the inclusion of clear goals, actions and a commitment to resources to prevent and reduce alcohol harm within the new national drug strategy.

Letters signed by over 70 coalition members across grass roots services, recovery groups, drug and alcohol task forces, treatment, policy, advocacy and research were submitted to both the Minister for Health and the Minister of State with responsibility for Public Health and the National Drug strategy.
