Intended results GPCareforAll wishes to raise the ongoing viability of our services due to the impact of the legislative changes introduced by section 1008A TCA 1997 of the Finance (No. 2) Act 2023. These changes will have a detrimental impact GPCareForAll and its ability to operate. The charity has a track record of creating GP practices in areas of deprivation which are grossly underserved; deprived populations do not present an attractive investment for GPs or commercial organisations.

Meeting (1)

Email sent to MaryLou McDonald on 14th January. Deputy McDonald visited Summerhill Family Practice on 20th January to discuss the impact of changes to Finance Act as described above. The meeting was attended by the Chair Kevin Kenny and the General Manager Amanda Farrelly.

Meeting (2-5)

Marie Sherlock visited Summerhill Family Practice on 25th February to discuss the impact of changes to Finance Act as described above. The meeting was attended by the Chair Kevin Kenny and the General Manager Amanda Farrelly. The same team visited Marie Sherlock in Leinster House on 6th March when Deputy Sherlock brought the situation up in the Dail.

Dr Austin O'Carroll had a phone call with Minister Paschal Donohoe with regard to 2024 changes in the finance Act.
