On 24 April 2025, the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) circulated a press release to all T.D.s, summarising its response to the Department of Health’s public consultation on the next national suicide reduction policy. The release highlighted PSI’s evidence-based recommendations, including the adoption of the Zero Suicide Initiative, the need for mandatory cross-sectoral training, and the importance of trauma-informed and community-based support systems.
