Intended results the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the Repair Campaign Team which is lobbying for former colonial powers in Europe to make reparations for the damage caused by slavery in the Carribean. The meeting was held in Brussels on 1st July amid rising calls from Caribbean governments for the UK and other European nations to engage with formal demands for reparations for slavery and its impacts across the region.
