Intended results
To discuss the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine's proposals are around protection of peatlands and wetlands and how this may impact farmers.
To call for the Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine to engage with the new Agriculture Commissioner to get the Good Agricultural & Environmental Condition (GAEC-2) removed from Conditionality; further derogation provided for 2025 and beyond; and that impact at farm-level would be minimal.
To highlight that a 'No Compensation, No Designation' policy should apply regarding formal designation of land per EU Directives.
That the economic impact on designated farms needs to be better acknowledged.
