The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.
Meeting (1)
- Sought explanation why 30km speed limit legislated for introduction in June has not been implemented and why 85 already defined "built up" areas could not immediately be introduced.
- Requested safety standards for HGVs operating in built up areas.
- Sought update on RSA reform and encouraged de-coupling of road safety from motor industry.
- Requested Minister to consider teachers providing Cycleright training through school curriculum with teachers to be provided additional CPD training.

Follow up email to previous meeting held with Minister Canney. Requested:
- enhanced vehicle safety standards for HGVs;
- consistent implementation of standards at junctions to improve safety for vulnerable road users;
- update on implementation of 30km speed limit;
- wider delivery of Cycleright training through teachers in schools; and
- that reforms to RSA should be evidenced-based with a public heath focussed approach to road safety.
