Specific Details June 9th – I emailed Frances Mac Aodhain at Department of Agriculture, Food & The Marine for an update regarding VCI mobile veterinary unit (MVU) certification. Positive reply from her on 14th June that VCI willing to accommodate the operation of MVUs on basis of a derogation under the PAS. A meeting took place on July 3rd with the Department, VCI and DSPCA was present too and agreement was reached to form the basis of going forward.

Intended results That the future of the Irish Blue Cross charitable veterinary clinics would be secured and that they would be allowed to operate by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, under their rules.

9th June email to France Mac Aodhain 14th June email to Frances Mac Aodhain 3rd July emails to and from France Mac Aodhain including the agenda of suggested topics for discussion for the meeting the same day regarding the Premises Accreditation Scheme – Registered Mobile Charity Veterinary Unit (RMCVU).

Phone call (1)

14th June phone conversation between Chris Conneely and Frances Mac Aodhain regarding the willingness of the VCI to accommodate the operation of MVUs by registered charities on the basis of a derogation from certain rules under the PAS for specific named charities. The VCI stated that they wished to seek agreement from the Council at their meeting on 19 June 2017 to proceed on that basis.
