Lobby day (1)
This event was organsied by Youth Work Ireland with member youth services attending to meet Oireachtas members. It took place in Buswells Hotel on October 4th. The conversation was centered on three areas - (1) Seeking additonal recources for the Youth Work sector. (2) Seeking a reduction in the reporting and compliance requirements for various departments or a committment to adequately resource organisations to meet the requirements (3) Request for the provision of security of funding to enable the organisation to retain qualified and skilled staff.
Lobby day (1)
This event was organisated by DCYA/ NYCI (The National Youth Council of Ireland). One staff member from CYS accompanied by three young people attended the day. It took place on November 22nd in Dublin. The purpose of the day was to promote Youth work and the representatives highlighted the following key areas of concern - the need for addtional funding, the need for security of funding and the request for a reduction in the administrative burden on small organisations or the provision of adequate resources to fund these requirements.
