Specific Details [Jan-April 2018] Seeking enactment of Dublin Chamber's recommendations for implementation of the National Planning Framework and the development and implementation of subsidiary regional and metropolitan plans.

Intended results Recognition of the Greater Dublin Area's vital role as a driver of national economic growth. Formation of a long-term plan for the residential, commercial, and infrastructural development of the Greater Dublin Area. Ensure joined up thinking across the local authorities of County Dublin and the Greater Dublin Area. Promote city regions as the drivers of economic growth where investment in infrastructure will yield the highest return for the exchequer. Coordinate urban consolidation on a regional basis. Develop a comprehensive economic and industrial strategy for the Eastern & Midland Region. Promote investment in world-class infrastructure for Dublin as a national economic priority. Ensure fair and proportional representation for Dublin in the Eastern & Midland Regional Assembly. Ensure that the Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP) for Dublin is only voted upon by representatives of the said Metropolitan Area.

Submission (1)

Dublin Chamber made a submission to Eastern & Midland Regional Assembly and Department of Housing, Planning, Community & Local Government in which the Chamber made recommendations to inform the new Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy (RSES) for the Eastern & Midland Region.

Dublin Chamber hosted DPOs at events at which the Chamber's recommendations on regional NPF implementation were advocated.

Meetings were held with DPOs at which Dublin Chamber advocated its recommendations for regional implementation of the NPF, and development and implementation of the RSES and MASP.
