Feb 18, 2019 - Following Minister's statement regarding Seniors Alert Scheme (SAS) & Brexit [see https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/brexit-threat-to-senior-alert-scheme-says-minister-905124.html] emailed Minister Ring re TASK's continued ability to supply SAS monitored alarms across Ireland regardless of the form taken by Brexit/noting TASK uses different alarm supplier to the one used by all other 3 SAS suppliers.
Suggest Minister raise issue with Pobal regarding apparent sub-contracting (monitoring) breach of SAS contract (& as confirmed by Pobal) by other monitored alarm supplier/s.
Mar 14, 2019 - Email seeking clarification on the response received from the department, suggesting that the SAS procurement process (& the restrictions placed on all suppliers, preventing them from sharing SAS work countrywide) was a policy decision & "not one that was imposed by Pobal". Also noting that since SAS transfer to Pobal Irish SMEs have been excluded from the SAS completely.
