Intended results
That the concerns of farmers and the agri-food sector are given priority and that the value of the UK market is maintained for Irish food exports, which in turn will ensure stability of the EU food market.
That the closest possible EU-UK trade relationship exists, with tariff-free and quota-free trade in agri-food products
That we achieve a partnership approach whereby the UK applies the EU's common external tariff and shares tariff rate quotas for sensitive products such as beef, butter and lamb.
That there would be full UK alignment to current and future EU standards including food safety, animal health and welfare and environmental standards
To gain a greater understanding on what the ratification of the agreement between the EU and UK, ahead of he UK's exit from the EU on January 31
To hear how the process is to develop ahead for the future relationship negotiations
To underline the importance of the implementation of the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland
