Specific Details RGFI requested a meeting with Minister Ryan to presented Project Clover, an industry led initiative & collaboration of agri food industry participants to develop an indigenous AD biomethane industry, setting out the significant benefits to decarbonising thermal demand & agriculture, sustainable food production, commercial sustainability, organic fertiliser(digestate), soil carbon sequestration, aligned with European Green Deal, environmental benefits, improved air quality, soil & water quality.

Intended results Secure commitment from Minister Ryan & Senior Official in DECC to support this industry led initiative, provide policy support and implement REDII Article 23 Renewable Heat Obligation Scheme, consumer demand for biomethane, lowest cost, commercial sustainability & competitiveness, biomethane is the only option to decarbonise thermal demand of manufacturing & processing sector, support the reduction in carbon footprint of difficult to decarbonise sectors of agriculture and heat/thermal demand

Communications with Minister Ryan seeking a meeting with RGFI & Project Clover industry participants to highlight the urgency and needs of the manufacturing and processing industries to decarbonise the thermal demand using indigenous sustainably produced biomethane, while decarbonising the the agri food supply chain. An indigenous biomethane industry would provide security of supply, storage and lowest cost renewable heat technology, least disruptive, providing consumers with a choice, putting the Consumers first principle and an Energy Integration System that informs consumers of renewable heat technology options.
