Specific Details To advise all Members of the Naas Municipal District of the chronic need for Childcare and Community Facilities in the South Naas Area, with over 1,000 houses without Neighbourhood Centre , Community or Childcare Facilities. Causing many unsustainable single vehicle journeys to get services. The support from the OPR for Zoning tier1 lands such as C(5) in preference over unserviced Tier 2 Lands.

Intended results For appropriate Zoning to allow a Community Creche and Neighbourhood Centre, plus woodland park and outdoor play area be created on Kilcullen Road. In addition to request the Planning Authority to amend the New Residential Zoning on site C5, to reflect its Tier 1 Status. In accordance with the advice of the OPR.

The following activities occurred for this specific Subject Matter Area.

Email (2-5)

Emails to provide updates on demand for Creche and Neighbourhood Community Centre. Including the incorporation of a Public Transport Hub with J.J. Kavanagh linking south Naas directly to the Naas/Sallins Rail and to Dublin and complimented with bicycle hub. Plus woodland recreation and play area, and viewing platforms. Plus Community Shop , Doctors Surgery and other small scale community needs. The Members were requested to support this by Zoning the lands Neighbourhood Centre. The Community and Members expressed strong support for the provision of there much needed facilities. Unfortunately the legitimate Motion No.103 somhow disappeared and members were unable to vote on it. The Members were asked to support the upgrading of C5 Residentially Zoned Phase 2 lands to Phase 1 New Residential Zoning in accordance with OPR guidelines.
