Specific Details The Poultry Working Group, of which IEA is a member, again raised concerns with regards to the protective measures for the egg and poultry meat production sector in the event of disease outbreaks.

Intended results There are two main elements required; firstly a contingency plan to deal with farms that suffer outbreaks of disease to enable swift and humane culling and clearance measures to prevent transmission to adjacent farms and secondly the establishment of a a co-funded Poultry Protection Fund to protect farmers from excessive losses and to enable them to get back on their feet.
