Specific Details Policy support for an indigenous AD biomethane industry to assist in decarbonising the difficult to decarbonise sectors of Heat, transport and Agriculture. RGFI are members and on the Board of European Biogas Association, who have presented the EU Commission with the capacity to produce 35 bcm of sustainable biomethane across the EU Member states. this capacity building has come into focus since the Ukraine Invasion, leading to energy prices and security, with a need for energy independence.

Intended results RGFI in representing and advocating on behalf of the gas consumers, sustainable biomethane as a solution to assist in decarbonising Heat/Thermal demand, transport and agriculture, recognised as difficult to decarbonise sectors. Agriculture has a key role to play in sustainable renewable energy production, help to address the environmental challenges in agriculture, providing alternative diverse & secure incomes. RGFI Biomethane Integrated Business case presents a positive economic assessment.

In conjunction with the arranged meeting with officials from DAFM and DECC, there are emails associated with the topic discussed i.e. AD biomethane, both before and after these meetings.

As outlined above in conjunction with meetings arranged with officials from DAFM, DECC there are emails exchanged in relation to the subject matter of AD biomethane and associated supporting documentations, reports, feasibility studies and policy information from the RGFI activities at EU Level.
