What is the directive you gave to the grassroots campaigners? Information that contradicts the rezoning applicants proposal (seen on Lobbying.ie) that Galways housing shortage will be cured by rezoning pristine agricultural lands of highly scenic value to Galway City citizens and of great historical and heritage value to the country as well as the illusion given by the applicant that this site is "sandwiched between two exisiting opieces of land that are already zoned LDR (Low Density Residential)". The key parcel to be rezoned is, in fact, directly surrounded on three sides by lands zoned agricultural, including the Monastery. The fourth side is the end of an LDR zone and this dividing line has been maintained by the Galway City Planners for many years as the line of demarcation Agricultural/Residential. Also noted ... this rezoning will nearly completely break the contiguous coastal green belt of Galway City currently stretching from Oranmore to Merlin Park
