Intended results To secure amendments to the European Commission’s Proposal for a European Media Freedom Act and draft Recommendation on internal safeguards for editorial independence and ownership transparency in the media sector 1. Allow European media companies to scale up and compete on an equal footing with very large online platforms (“VLOPs”) 2. Ensuring that licensed audio services are discoverable and easy to find via user interfaces, including in cars; and 3. protecting radio broadcasters from improper political interventions by ensuring that the rule of law and, more broadly, the values of the Union are respected by all Member States.
