Submission (1)
Submission of Opening Statement to the Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Health in advance of a presentation by representatives of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland to the committee on May 17th 2023 on the need to fully staff a community neurorehabilitation team in each of the nine HSE community health organisation (CHO) areas nationwide as recommended in the 2019-2021 Implementation Framework for the National Neurorehabilitation Strategy.

Invitation to Oireachtas members to attend an event in Buswells hotel Dublin on June 27th to launch the Neurological Alliance of Ireland pre budget submission. The invitation outlined the two main asks outlined in the submission: funding in Budget 2024 to fully staff a community neurorehabilitation team in each of the nine HSE Community Health Organisation (CHO) areas nationwide and funding to put in place a multidisciplinary team in the only dedicated neurology service for long COVID patients.

In person meeting in Buswells Hotel Dublin on June 27th where Oireachtas members were provided with a copy of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland pre budget submission. They were also invited to meet with patient advocates from around the country and informed of the need for a fully staffed community neurorehabilitation team in their local HSE Community Health Organisation (CHO) area. Oireachtas members also had the opportunity to speak to members of the Irish Neurology Nursing Forum.
