The Regulation of Lobbying legislation is designed to provide information to the public about who is lobbying whom about what.

If you are lobbying then you must register on this website and make a return every four months. Take our Three Step Test to see if you are lobbying.

Please feel free to read this welcome letter, which is sent to all new registrants, advising them of their obligations and best administrative practices for managing their account on Lobbying.ie.

Next Deadlines

A return may be submitted at any stage during a relevant period

  • 21 January 2024 - Returns due for return period 1 September - 31 December 2023
  • 21 May 2024 - Returns due for return period 1 January - 30 April 2024
  • 21 September 2024 - Returns due for return period 1 May - 31 August 2024

Announcements

  • Please be aware that after three failed password attempts your account will lock but will be automatically unlocked after 2 hours without need for manual intervention from our team. 

  • 29 February 2024 - We hosted an Online Open House Information Session on the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 and the the Lobbying Amendment Act 2023. Slides from the session can be viewed here.

  • 15 December 2023 - The Regulation of Lobbying and Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Act 2023 was passed into law on 22 June 2023. Most provisions of Act will commence on 1 January 2024. Some provisions will commence on 1 June 2024. Lobbying Amendment Act 2023 Key Information.            

  • 30 June 2023 - The Standards Commission publishes Annual Report 2022 under Regulation of Lobbying Act.

  • 2 March 2023 - We hosted an Online Open House Information Session on the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015. Slides from the session can be viewed here.

  • 7 March 2022 - Please see our new how to submit a return guidance document here.

  • 4 January 2022 - Registrants accessing lobbying.ie should not use Internet Explorer and should access the system using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or an alternative browser.
