Specific Details Development of public health programme to manage the high level of unaddressed hearing loss in Ireland and to consider the recommendations of a WHO report on ear and hearing care published in March 2021.

Intended results The delivery of a National Hearing Care Plan to improve the care pathway for people with hearing loss in receiving appropriate intervention. In particular we want to see an increase in the number of people accessing hearing aids, improved governance and oversight for those purchasing audiology services in the private sector, and an end to the unacceptable and lengthy HSE waiting lists for medical card holders.
