Intended results Provide information on SSE’s response to energy crisis, and outline priorities for net zero transition. Meeting following invitation from Taoiseach to discuss energy costs and related issues in the energy market. SSE outlined recent market trends and SSE Airtricity's efforts to manage risk and support customers including SSE Airtricity commitment to forego profit in FY 23 to support customers with cost of living, including €25m customer support fund.

Meeting (1)

SSE set out potential for homegrown renewable energy to buffer wholesale market volatility and outlined need for reform of planning and grid systems to facilitate this. SSE updated on progress with respect to Arklow Bank and set out commitment to deliver this project under an alternative route to market in support of 2030 renewables targets; likewise SSE discussed solar and energy efficiency retrofit ambitions.
