Specific Details Seeking the right for Deaf students whose first language is Irish Sign Language (ISL) to be able to complete an ISL exam in their Leaving Certificate

Intended results Many foreign students can complete an exam in their native language in the Leaving Certificate, e.g. Russian, Greek, Latvian, Chinese etc. However, even though ISL is a recognised language in Ireland, Deaf students cannot complete an exam in their first language, hindering their chances for increasing their points total and accessing college etc.
